Biography

The Metropolitan Bay Area has been inspired and blessed by a God-given talent. Charlene’s talent was discovered at the age of 2 years by her parents. She experienced playing for her first choir at the age of 4 years. Her father, the late Rev. Charlie Moore was the pastor of the Calvary Hill Baptist Church for 14 years – (now known as the Calvary Hill Community Church under the leadership of Rev. Joseph Bryant, Jr.). Her mother, Sister Darlene Moore was a soul stirring gospel singer from the old school, a great prayer warrior and missionary. Here in the Bay Area, Charlene and her mother were known as the "Mother & Daughter Team’’.

As the early years went by Charlene’s interest in music advanced very rapidly.  She is the musician for the Living Springs Christian Fellowship in Pleasant Hill, CA. - Rev. John Adams, Pastor and the Capitol City 7th Day Adventist Church in Sacramento, CA - Rev. Ivan Williams, Pastor. Charlene also serves as Musical Director of The Mass Choir of the City of Refuge United Church of Christ in San Francisco, under the leadership of Bishop Yvette Flunder. Along with other accomplishments, she is a featured soloist on the soon to be released CD by Chris & Chubby (Bay Area Gospel Rap Group).

Charlene has a outreach ministry to those who feel lost. She’s about touching and making a difference in lives of people who feel like there is no hope. But, there is a word from the Lord – her ministry of spreading the gospel through music has helped so many find Christ - no matter what ethnic group, religious background, or gender –

" God is universal and welcomes everyone, He wants you to come as you are – His love is unconditional ".

She has shared her talents in revivals, tent meetings, television, and radio broadcasts here in the Bay Area and throughout the United States and Africa.

Mother Darlene Moore
Loving and kind in all her ways, upright and just to the end of her days: A heart that was purer than gold. And to those who knew her and loved her, Darlene's memory will never grow old.

"Mama my whole life has changed since you left me - sometimes I feel so lost without you here with me, but I feel your spirit everyday telling me what to do. The church family you trust to take care of me are doing just that. Bishop Yvette Flunder and Refuge Ministries, along with David (Brooklyn, NY) all the cousins - they keep up with me all the time. I miss you so much but know that we will meet again. Through it all God is still faithful.

Your Loving Daughter, Charlene.

While in Yokohama Japan on December 11th, God picked another beautiful flower, The Rt. Rev. Ruth Ella Langston and being in Japan – not being able to attend the services has been very difficult for me ( www.radicallyinclusive.com ).

Mother Ruth Ella Langston was my second mama, she was the only one that could help me to focus on what I needed to do in ministry, be a blessing to the people through music.  She would tell me “there’s no time for giving up, God is still faithful”, and now she has answered the call of God and Mother Ruth and my mama (Mother Darlene Moore) are resting at the Jesus feet smiling and watching Leonard, Nubian, Bishop Langston and the two daughters do the will of God, knowing that God will give us the strength we need each day because He is “FAITHFUL”.

Along with The Fellowship, The Hamilton Church Family, Bishop Yvette Flunder, Mother Shirley Miller, Leonard, Nubian and Bishop Langston and your entire family – Ruth, you are greatly missed and your spirit will forever live in our hearts – for we know the promises of God are true, we will see you again.  I Love You – Ruth.
